KAON TA! means "Let's Eat!" in Hiligaynon

This blog does not give technical review
of restaurants we go to.

It merely chronicles the dining experience
of two Bacolenos working in Cebu -

Nyss who loves to write and

Geus who loves to take pictures.

Did we mention that we both love to eat?

Middle Eastern and Indian Cuisine
Nyss - 4/5
Geus - 4/5

When we dine in a restaurant, we usually choose one entree each.  Since eating in a Middle Eastern inspired restaurant is not usual for me, I ordered a dish I haven't tasted.  There were a lot of dishes to choose from but I chose Musaka because it sounded like my favorite character in Lion King and because it has eggplant.  I love eggplant parmigiana so trying out a different eggplant dish made me excited.

Musaka  Minced beef kebab cooked in tomato sauce, onion, garlic
w/ toasted egg plant and cheese

Although the minced beef kebab was not tasty enough for me, I would still consider the dish good because of the presentation, the large serving, and because it tasted different in a good way.  I would've loved it more had they served it hot.

Geus ordered Chello Kebab Regular because we've tried Chello Kebab in Persian Palate in Ayala Center before and we wanted to do a comparison.  The Chello Kebab Regular in Tandoori came in a bigger serving because it is also more expensive.  But the taste of the Chello Kebab in Tandoori is a lot better.  Tandoori and Persian Palate though are just under the same company so maybe they added more spices to make Tandoor's Chello Kebab more special since it caters to a more upscale market.

Chello Kebab Regular 2 sticks beef kebab, comes with plain rice

That day, we didn't feel like experimenting with the drinks so we ordered softdrinks in can instead of trying out Persian Tea, Kamunggay Tea, or Cinnamon Tea.

From the moment you enter, you would feel like you are in a different place.  From the table setting to the framed paintings at the wall, you would see a Middle-Eastern touch.  Do not be fooled by the outside of the restaurant as it may look like an expensive dining place to some.  It's only the decoration that makes it look like that but the food is affordable and the serving is big.  That is why I give kudos to the restaurant owners for the wonderful decors.  However, when we dined there they just turned on the airconditioning system so the place was a bit warm for me.

The waiters were attentive and even though they ran out of softdrinks in can, they still were able to accommodate our order because Save More grocery is just a stone's throw away.  Our order came after 15 - 20 minutes.  This is not bad for those who can wait but if you are really hungry, you are better off eating in a fast food.

Musaka  PHP 180.00
Chello Kebab Regular PHP 160.00
Softdrink in Can PHP 40.00

Nyss   I love the Chello Kebab.  I will go back and order that dish again.
Geus - If you like Persian food, you'll like this place.
