KAON TA! means "Let's Eat!" in Hiligaynon

This blog does not give technical review
of restaurants we go to.

It merely chronicles the dining experience
of two Bacolenos working in Cebu -

Nyss who loves to write and

Geus who loves to take pictures.

Did we mention that we both love to eat?

Finding hole-in-the-wall restaurants that not a lot of bloggers feature is one of our aims.  When the cousin of Geus told us about Kuya J, we were immediately convinced to eat there.

We ordered Baked Scallops and we love it.  There was ample cheese and butter on top of the scallops that made the dish extra-delish.

Geus’ cousin also recommended the Tuna Chili.  I am not really a fan of tuna because I find the meat a little hard for my taste but the chili sauce on top made this dish extra-ordinary.  Imagine the chili sauce they place in siomai smothered onto the tuna.  Chili lovers would love this.

We also ordered Sizzling Squid with Coco Curry.  I think the dish is just average since no one could really go wrong with curry dishes.  I would have liked them to put in special spices to make this dish more special.

What I love about this restaurant is that you can have your order customized.  Geus’ cousin is diabetic so when he ordered dessert, he asked the waitress to use evaporated milk instead of condensed milk.  His Mango Pandan was delicious even with the ingredient swapping

This restaurant is a little bit hard to find but once you find it, you will be amazed by the classy decoration.  I suggest that you stay inside since the ambience is better.
